Tools, Equipment & Fleet Manager
Job Summary: The Tools & Equipment Manager is responsible for the overall operation of warehouse, fleet /company owned vehicles, and the maintenance of building and grounds. The T&E Manager supports all Jamar Departments, in Duluth and regionally, by providing innovative solutions for internal team members and external customers. The T&E Manager oversees the Warehouse Staff and all functions of tools and equipment, buildings and grounds, fleet, procurement, receiving, tracking, and maintenance. The Manager will routinely review and audit processes and programs to ensure the success of the department and company overall. Primary Responsibilities:



+ Responsible for day to day operational needs of the tool rooms, company fleet/assets, buildings and grounds owned and operated by Jamar to support the operations of The Jamar Company.


+ Oversees all tool and equipment personnel in their function and development. Performs annual employee assessments aimed at exchanging feedback with each employee to establish clear expectations and goals.


+ Maintains positive relationships with vendors, department managers and other key stake holder, as the first point of contact for any questions or concerns that arise related to fleet, assets or buildings and grounds.


+ Ensures proper parts inventory management and organization, including forecasting for equipment, product/tool inventory and stock on hand. Performs regular inspections to evaluate processes, ensure quality inspections/repairs for tools, fleet and equipment.


+ Follows company processes for insurance compliance, completion of jobs and ensures overhead PO's procedure is followed for any asset and tool related purchase.


+ Ensures tool, asset, and fleet tracking software use, reporting, compliance and effectiveness of related processes.


+ Maintains Jamar's DOT certification and ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.


+ Tracks and evaluates operating results and performance against objectives. Ensure alignment within budget targets, tracks and reports any business related variances.


+ Routinely assesses strategic initiatives, critical department needs and approach, including staffing and employee schedule. Creates plan to achieve goals, or course correct to ensure desired outcomes are met.


+ Develops and implements practices or ensures processes are in place to maintain the safety, cleanliness and order of the tool room, warehouse, and building and grounds.


+ Support and engage in department productivity improvement activities (Lean) designed to eliminate waste and provide ultimate value.


+ Takes an active role in requesting training programs to enhance equipment related objectives (e.g., operator training, equipment maintenance, etc.)


+ Provides support for safety, quality, billing and collection as requested


+ Perform special assignments as assigned



Education / Experience:



+ Three to five years of fleet, operations, logistics, or related equipment management scope and operational responsibilities, including vendor management and purchasing experience.


+ Proven skill and effectiveness as a leader, with the ability to define, communicate objectives and execute on strategic objectives.


+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, vendors and other employees, including ability to prepare and present understandable reports, processes and objectives.


+ Familiar with establishing, meeting and exceeding financial goals.


+ Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office and customized tool and fleet systems.


+ Valid state driver's license and clean driving record.



Certificates, Licenses, Registrations



+ Achieve and maintain forklift operator certification and training.
