We are looking for prior customer service experience and a passion for helping others. As a member of the Sheraton, you will have access to a great training program and will help you succeed and achieve your goals while going above & beyond to exceed guest expectations!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Core Responsibilities


+ General maintenance and upkeep responsibilities including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light carpentry and painting


+ Responds to open work orders and resolves requests within 24 hours


+ Assists in scheduling and completing preventive maintenance for buildings and building equipment


+ Hands-on work of all building repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the facility with special attention to more involved operations or projects


+ Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments


+ Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties


+ Walks property at regular intervals (daily) to ensure that the property is clean and orderly and in good maintenance condition


+ Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas


+ Other tasks as assigned including: plumbing, blueprint, electrical, city codes, environmental initiative and tracking


+ Assists in maintaining sufficient maintenance supply stock


+ Assists in contracting outside vendors and taking bids for special projects or extensive maintenance


+ Obtains approvals for expenditures and maintains budgets


+ Maintains exterior grounds and interior common areas in quality, presentable condition. This will include but is not limited to the following:


+ Picks up trash and keep common areas neat


+ Sweeps walks and curbs


+ Waters lawn, trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds


+ Shovels walks, sand or salt icy areas


+ Performs year-round grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal


+ Completes additional duties as assigned





2. Customer Focus


+ Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly/efficient manner


+ All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction


+ Always strive to exceed guest expectations and meet brand standards



3. Accountability


+ Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties


+ Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures


+ Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures


+ Attends all required department and hotel meetings


+ Maintains customer service and excellent relations with guests, hotel employees, vendors and other external or internal organizations


+ Keeps management informed at all times in the areas of: property conditions, guest complaints, and suggestions for improvement of property performance


+ Regularly coordinates room inspections in partnership with management


+ Must be respectful of guest privacy


+ Responsible for sustainability recording and analysis


+ Other tasks & duties as assigned based on business need; Evening and weekend rotations as required



Required Experience:



+ 1-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related carpentry/construction. Ideally in hospitality or a related industry


+ Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment


+ Special boilers license or willingness to obtain one, if applicable


+ Certified Pool Operator (CPO), if applicable


+ Current and valid driver's license required. Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) and have a safe driving record, if applicable


+ A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates


+ Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel


+ Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services
