+ JOB SUMMARY With limited direct supervision, provides general office and complex secretarial and support services to Medical Records Department. Responsible for receiving and assisting physicians, patients, staff, agencies, and other healthcare providers calling or entering the Medical Record Department. Requires good communication skills to establish and maintain internal and external working relationships. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: One (1) year office experience. Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: N/A Experience: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Keyboarding experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, work independently, demonstrate good judgment in determining work priorities, understand and comply with policies and procedures related to confidentiality, establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, and work in an environment with interruptions, people and equipment congestion. Ability to concentrate for an entire work day performing the same task, demonstrate attention to detail and performs all work functions with high levels of accuracy. READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures. SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients or other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
