**Business Info Consultant**


Responsible for provider financial reporting in support of value-based payment models such as shared savings and capitation. Must have prior healthcare analytics and reporting experience in medical cost targets, cost performance, utilization, specialty steerage, and episode treatment group (ETG) reporting as well as knowledge of claims processing, lag time, and IBNR. Will evaluate and consolidate various existing reports and maintain a provider reporting roadmap with provider input.


Responsible for serving as an expert in data analysis, reporting and formulating recommendations and providing guidance to other data analysts.


Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:


+ Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.

+ Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.

+ Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.

+ Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.

+ May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.

+ May make recommendations based upon data analysis.

+ Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or external customers.

+ Data analysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity.


**Business Info Consultant Sr.**

+ Establishes, improves, and optimizes the consolidating processes for forecast and month-end results.

+ Consolidates and prepares executive summary reports for various business segments in the SBU for top management decision-making.

+ Analyzes and designs solutions to address varied and highly complex business needs.

+ Generates clear and concise requirements documents to establish goals, requirements and business case for new reporting products.

+ Collaborates with businesses and technical areas to implement new or enhanced products.

+ Engages with external customers to determine requirements for new and existing reporting products.

+ Contributes to the reporting product roadmap.

+ May require strong knowledge of products as well as our internal business models and data systems.

+ May coordinate with external audits as appropriate.

+ Acts as the central contact with internal departments and external auditors. Works independently.

+ Draws up a plan to address issues/concerns.

+ Works side by side with their manager.


*****This position may be filled at Business Info Consultant or Consultant Sr. level. The hiring manager will determine the level, based on the candidate's experience and background.*****


**Business Info Consultant**


+ Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; minimum of 5 years experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

+ Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.

+ Ability to manipulate large sets of data.

+ Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills.


This job is more focused on higher level technical expertise, mentoring staff in lower job levels, more customer facing, higher level of collaboration, work is higher volume and/or higher risk, and modeling as compared to the Bus Info Analyst Sr job.


**Business Info Consultant Sr.**


+ Requires a BS/BA degree in Statistics, Economics, or Business Administration; 12+ years of relevant experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

+ Experience providing leadership in evaluating financial performance of complex organizations required.

+ Excellent leadership, problem solving, organizational, planning, presentation and interpersonal skills.


This job is focused on identifying solutions to business problems and needs, very knowledgeable across products, more customer facing in recommending solutions, expert in data analysis, extremely independent, more interpretation of what is required by the business as compared to the Bus Info Consultant job.
